Quick Answer: The CECLE DLE-1720 Cantilever Diode Laser Engraver is a lightweight, ultra-compact desktop CNC laser machine designed for makers, hobbyists, leathercraft artisans, and mobile kiosk entrepreneurs.

CECLE DLE-1720 vs. Traditional / Generic Alternative

Where the CECLE DLE-1720 stands out against generic desktop diode laser engraver — measured on the dimensions buyers care about most.

Footprint & Portability
CECLE DLE-17201.75 kg and a 40 × 33 × 12 cm body go straight onto a booth table or a home studio desk, with no bench or floor space needed.
Bench-Bolted Frameonce mounted it stays put, so on-site work means bringing the workpiece in.
Borderless Pass-Through
CECLE DLE-1720Three-sided cantilever leaves the right, front and top open, so skateboards, belts and guitar necks pass straight through.
Enclosed Box Frameinternal volume sets the size limit, so anything longer has to be skipped.
Laser Power Options
CECLE DLE-17202500mW to 10000mW modules swap without tools, covering fine leather marking through deep wood engraving on one machine.
Fixed Low-Power Diodeone head for everything, so deep cuts need repeated passes and thin stock burns.
Material Contrast
CECLE DLE-1720Clean high-contrast edges on solid wood, bamboo, leather, paperboard, dark acrylic and anodized aluminium.
Untested Stock, Trial and Erroreach new material needs a throwaway run before the job can start.

Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)

  1. Setup: connect the required power / air supply and verify the control display.
  2. Parameter preset: set speed / temperature / pressure per the product spec.
  3. Material loading: place the product in the correct fixture / mold slot.
  4. Execution: start the cycle; monitor for stable, repeatable output.
  5. Quality check: inspect the first units; adjust if deviation appears.
  6. Safety & cooldown: use Emergency Stop on abnormality; allow cooldown before maintenance.

Engineering FAQ

Does the single-arm cantilever design vibrate or lose accuracy during engraving?
A: No. The machine combines a rigid linear profile with a low-center-of-gravity motor base. Over the compact 20 × 17 cm working envelope, the 0.01 mm positioning accuracy ensures smooth, jitter-free lines and consistent motion.

Is assembly complicated for beginners?
A: Not at all. Because of the cantilever design, there is no need to balance dual Y-axis belts. The machine arrives largely pre-assembled and requires only a few screws and cable connections to start engraving.

Can this machine engrave metals or transparent glass/acrylic?
A: It can engrave coated metals, anodized aluminum, and painted surfaces. Bare, raw reflective metals cannot be engraved. Transparent materials (such as clear acrylic or glass) cannot directly absorb 450nm blue laser light; they require a water-soluble black coating or laser marking paper applied to the surface before processing.

What safety precautions should be followed during operation?
A: Semiconductor blue laser light is concentrated and hazardous to eyes. All operators must wear the included laser safety goggles at all times. In addition, operate the engraver in a well-ventilated space to disperse smoke and fumes.
