About Air Compressors: Piston & Screw, Industrial Use
Air compressors supply pressurized air to pneumatic tools, spray tools, automation and production lines. CECLE supplies 17 machines spanning piston and screw types for workshops, factories and farms. Selection hinges on required pressure (PSI/bar), airflow (CFM) and daily duty cycle.
How to Choose
- Required pressure (PSI/bar) — match or exceed your highest-demand tool; add 15–30 PSI for drops.
- Airflow (CFM) — total tool demand × 1.3–1.5 plus future growth; avoid chronic under-sizing.
- Type — piston for intermittent (<60% duty), rotary screw for 100% continuous duty.
- Tank size — 24–500 L typical; larger tanks stabilize pressure and cut cycling.
- Power, phase and lubrication — HP/kW, single vs. 3-phase, oil-lubricated vs. oil-free for clean air.
FAQ
Q: Should I choose a piston or screw air compressor?
A: Pick a piston unit for intermittent workshop use (50–75% duty cycle) where lower cost matters; choose a rotary screw for continuous 8+ hour operation, quieter running and 100% duty. Wrong choice risks overheating or overspend.
Q: How do I size the CFM and tank I need?
A: Add the CFM of all air tools, multiply by 1.3–1.5 for simultaneous use and growth, and size the tank (24–500 L) to buffer demand spikes. Undersizing causes pressure drops and premature failure, so build in headroom.
Q: Need a compressor matched to your tools and power?
A: Contact CECLE with your tool list, required PSI and available voltage/phase so we can recommend type, tank and motor, plus lead time and a quote.
