What is the Screw Conveyor - CECLE Machine

What is the Screw Conveyor

A screw conveyor, also known as auger conveyor, is a mechanism that uses a rotating helical screw blade to move materials (such as granular and powdery materials) from one location to another. It is commonly used to transport various types of semi-solid materials, such as mulch, compost, and food waste in waste management operations as well as in many manufacturing industries.
Some main parts of a screw conveyor include:
• Screw blade or auger: The helical blade that rotates and pushes materials through the conveyor. It can have single or multiple threads depending on the application.
• Tubular casing: The enclosure that houses the screw blade. It can be made from materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and plastic.
• Drive unit: Usually an electric motor mounted at one end of the conveyor that rotates the screw.
• Inlet and outlet: Where materials enter and exit the conveyor. The inlet is at one end of the conveyor and the outlet is at the opposite end.
